Feeding My Wanderlust: Travel Destinations I’m Dreaming Of

One consequence of being in new mama travel lockdown for the past few months since Henry was born? I’ve come down with a serious case of wanderlust. And the greater my itch to travel, the more I find myself trolling Pinterest for new destinations that I want to visit (which isn’t helping my case… but I can’t help it!).

European Escapes

1. Italy: The rolling hills of Tuscany, the ancient ruins of Rome, the romantic canals of Venice – Italy has it all. I dream of sipping wine in a vineyard and indulging in delicious pasta dishes.

2. Greece: The crystal-clear waters of the Greek islands beckon me, along with the ancient history of Athens. I can picture myself lounging on a white sandy beach with a good book in hand.

Tropical Getaways

1. Bali, Indonesia: The lush green rice terraces, stunning temples, and vibrant culture of Bali have me longing for a tropical escape. I can imagine myself practicing yoga on the beach at sunrise.

2. Maldives: The overwater bungalows of the Maldives are the stuff of dreams. I can’t wait to snorkel in the clear blue waters and relax on the pristine beaches.

Adventure Destinations

1. Iceland: The dramatic landscapes of Iceland, from waterfalls to glaciers, have me yearning for an adventure. I imagine myself hiking through volcanic terrain and soaking in a geothermal hot spring.

2. New Zealand: The breathtaking scenery of New Zealand, from snow-capped mountains to pristine lakes, calls out to my adventurous spirit. I can’t wait to explore the great outdoors and go bungee jumping.

Cultural Experiences

1. Japan: The blend of ancient traditions and modern technology in Japan fascinates me. I dream of experiencing a traditional tea ceremony and exploring the bustling streets of Tokyo.

2. Morocco: The vibrant colors and exotic sights of Morocco have me intrigued. I can picture myself wandering through the maze-like streets of Marrakech and shopping in the bustling souks.

Conclusion

While I may not be able to travel right now, I find solace in planning future adventures and dreaming of all the amazing destinations I want to visit. From European escapes to tropical getaways, adventure destinations to cultural experiences, the world is full of wonders waiting to be explored. And one day, I know I’ll be able to satisfy my wanderlust and embark on new journeys with my little Henry in tow. Until then, I’ll keep pinning destinations on Pinterest and counting down the days until I can hit the road again.
