New Silk Cashewmilk: another great alternative to dairy!

There is a new dairy alternative in the grocery store and this one may just be my favorite. Silk Cashew Milk is a new, creamy beverage that not only works great in recipes, but it tastes delicious! It boasts 25% fewer calories than skim milk (*Silk Original Cashewmilk: 60 cal/serv; skim dairy milk: 80 cal/serv. USDA National Nutrient Database
for Standard Reference, Release 26. Data consistent with typical skim dairy milk.) as well as more calcium than milk. It is gluten, dairy and soy free.Cashews have long been my favorite nut. I love to use the raw nuts to make “cream” for desserts. When I saw that Silk is making Cashew Milk, I was really excited to try it. I used it on cold and warm cereal. I drank it straight from the glass. I used it in recipes, I even made a homemade custard with it. It worked great in all places. I was not disappointed; it really is a very creamy beverage.New Silk Cashewmilk: another great alternative to dairy!

I found Silk Cashew Milk in two of my local Wal-Marts. You can sign up for the Silk newsletter and receive information and coupons via email. There is a “find my silk” feature on their website that will help you find stores that carry Silk Cashew Milk. Follow them on Facebook and tell them what you think about new Cashew Milk (don’t you love companies who interact with their customers?) Silk is also on Pinterest, so you can follow their boards to get recipe ideas.
