The Unique Art of Cyanotype Printing
Are you looking for a unique and unconventional form of art to add to your collection? Look no further than cyanotype printing. This alternative photography process uses sunlight to expose the image, resulting in beautiful and one-of-a-kind prints that will capture the attention of anyone who sees them.
Creating Varied Shades of Blue, Green, and Yellow
Traditionally, cyanotype prints are known for their distinct blue and white color palette. However, I have developed a method to alter the process, resulting in prints that feature varied shades of blue, green, and sometimes even yellow. The end goal is not a tidy and neat print, but rather a unique and completely imperfect work of art that is sure to stand out in any space.
Nature-Inspired Images Processed Through Photoshop
To create my cyanotype prints, I start by capturing images in nature. These images are then processed through Photoshop to create the negatives that I print from. This allows me to infuse my prints with the beauty of the natural world, while also adding a touch of artistic manipulation to the final result.
Embracing Imperfections and Unconventional Methods
One of the key components of my cyanotype printing process is embracing imperfections. Instead of striving for precise, clear lines, I welcome any blurring or pixelation that may be present in the original image. I use printed transparencies and unconventional methods to create my prints, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic.
High-Quality Prints for Your Collection
Despite the unconventional methods used in creating my cyanotype prints, I ensure that the final result is of the highest quality. I scan the original prints at 600 dpi, allowing for every detail to be magnified when the image is enlarged. This attention to detail ensures that you receive a high-quality print that is perfect for displaying in your home or office.
Shipping and Displaying Your Cyanotype Print
When you order a cyanotype print from me, you can expect it to be made to order and shipped separately from Printful. Please allow 7-8 business days for processing. The print you receive will come rolled up and wrapped in tissue paper inside a cardboard mailing cylinder. If you lay the print flat for a few days, it will flatten on its own. Alternatively, you can use heavy books to hasten the flattening process.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast looking for a unique addition to your collection or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of alternative photography processes, my cyanotype prints are sure to capture your attention. With their varied shades of blue, green, and yellow and their embrace of imperfection, these prints are unlike anything you’ve seen before. Place your order today and add a touch of unconventional beauty to your space.
