To ensure that I have enough time to cover everything, I’ve made it a rule not to cover any countries on Fridays, except for Germany when we do Gingerbread Houses. One of the new additions to my unit this year is creating a complete EXPERIENCE for the students. We’ll play the sound of an airplane taking off, dress up like flight attendants, and pass out in-flight snacks before fastening our seatbelts for takeoff. The WORLD AIRLINES will transport us to our destinations in 3, 2, 1!
I’ve included informational reading passages for each country in my pack, so all the key points are conveniently located on one sheet of paper. This year, I’ve also added more writing components and supplementals to make the unit even more comprehensive. And if you don’t want to cover all the countries in one year, no problem! The pack offers a variety, so you can switch it up each year.
I’ve done my best to make your job easier by including links to websites and books, so you don’t have to spend time Googling each country right before teaching it to your students.
